Three Texans named to National ODP '86 All-Star Team
 

Congratulations to Patrick Robinson, Ryan Nowak and Kurt Martin from the Texans 85/86 Red team. Patrick currently plays defense for his college, Coastal Carolina, Ryan plays in goal for his college, UNC-Greensboro, while Kurt is a forward at Notre Dame. No wonder the U18s advanced all the way to the USYNC National Championship game last summer! Way to go boys!

RICHARDSON, TEXAS (January 11,2005) – US Youth Soccer today announced the adidas All-Star Team from the recently completed US Youth Soccer ODP Boys Interregional in Chula Vista, California from January 2-6, 2005. The 20-man roster for the ’86 adidas All Star team was selected based on outstanding performance during the annual interregional event.

The annual event brings together the four US Youth Soccer ODP Boys Regional Teams for competition and player development.

Teams arrived on January 2nd for training and competition at the U.S. Olympic Training Center (OTC) in Chula Vista, California, one of two Olympic Training Centers in the United States. The Men’s and Women’s National Teams do much of their international preparation at these training centers. Sigi Schmidt, the Under-20 National Team Coach, took time from his U-20 Camp during the Interregional event to see the regional teams play.

US Youth Soccer ODP, designed to identify and develop a pool of players from which U.S. National Teams may be selected, is the original Olympic Development Program in the United States. US Youth Soccer ODP is the only elite player development program that can claim members of Major League Soccer and Women’s United Soccer Association, as well as a majority of current and past national and youth team members, as alumni. With programs in all 55 State Associations as well as regional and national championships and participation in international tournaments, US Youth Soccer ODP continues to lead the way in elite player identification and development.
